  • Eliminate fret buzz without raising action?

Even for an electric guitar, the action on my model 4 is extremely low. It's very nice to play but I get fret buzz on the E string. Not overly annoying, I don't have much, but it can be heard and I was wondering if there was anything aside from raising the action (by raising the bridge) to change this. Thanks!

level the frets, shim the nut, check the relief and give the truss rod a tweak.
There are a couple of things you can do.
what kind of buzz? where and when helps to provide a more
    useful answer.

Extremely low action is going to give a degree of buzzing. Where on the neck is it buzzing?

That's the problem, I don't know where really... And the frets have been levelled.
My neck is perfectly flat I think. I have no way of knowing for sure but it appears so.
        What does 'shim' mean?

shim is placing something (very thin) under the nut to raise it a bit.
If you get buzzing on string when it's open and not when
it's fretted then adding a shim under the nut can help.

If it can't be heard through the amp, don't worry about it. Buzzing is normal. It'll drive you nuts if you're so picky about having a little bit of it.

Well it depends how hard I hit. I get more buzz when I fret a chord, and I can't locate it.

Options for totally eliminating buzz without adjusting the action:
                -Use flatwound strings.
                -Remove the frets.
                -Turn the amp up.
                -Get a piano.

Another solution would be to buy a Randall Warhead. You won't notice the buzzing playing through one of those amps.

i was always told that electrics are ok to buzz when played acoustically, but as long as you dont hear it on the clean channel then all is good my friend.
