• Is it bad to leave your Floyd guitar dropped to D?

Last night I dropped my E to D without slackening any springs and it's still in this position... Is it bad for the neck?

Also, my friend's Ibanez GRG270's Floyd can D tune using only the fine tuners, not my JT6. If you use the fine tuners only, does it mean the other strings don't go out of tune? All my other strings were slightly out of tune after having tuned the E to D. Thanks for the help

it's not bad, and yeah, the other strings may move a little bit when you do it, but that's what fine tuners are for!

Good I feared that the treble side of the neck might get more tension than the bass and result in a twisted neck. My neck is PERFECTLY flat (17 years old :P ) and I really wouldn't want to warp it <3 Thanks!

You can always get thicker strings to compensate, I guess!

Right now i have .9s on it. The guitar tech said the neck won't bear .10s I don't know what to do

I have had 10's on all my guitars at some point and they have never even needed a truss rod adjustment-even my HM strat which has the thinnest neck I have ever felt. WHat guitar did he say would not work with 10's? Either your guitar is overly fragile, or your tech is nuts.

Charvel 4. 1987 as far as I can make out (sharkfins, JT6). He didn't say why, I just got the receipt with markings saying .10 wouldn't have fit :s. The neck is very straight... I hope it's not fragile.

Your tech is crazy! 10s will work fine.
