• Sanding the finish off my Washburn neck

    Hey guys.

I recently have the urge to sand the finish off the back of the neck. Feels like they've applied some sort of sation like finish on the neck like Jackson do with the RR3's. What sand paper should i use to sand off the finish?

Also would it be ok to just leave the neck raw? or would i have to apply some sort of oil?

why do you want to do this? if you want the same feel, scuff the clear with some steel wool. less intrusive.

I agree, use "0000" steel wool or the finest synthetic "mesh" you can get. Lightly scuffing the clearcoat on the back of the neck will feel amazing and chances are you would hate yourself for removing the paint. Never leave the back of the neck raw.
