  • Found a '89 reverse headstock soloist

Found a white reverse headstock custom soloist at a pawn shop today. I was wondering what it was worth. The guitar is in good shape. It has some dings but no big ones or large scratches. The electronics look a little rough though. It is H/S/S configuration with a Jackson humbucker and two rail humbuckers but the humbucker pickup bezel is broken and the back plates are plastic and look abused. It also has an active mid boost, tall skinny frets like the king Vs and a recessed Shaller floyd.

So what do you think its worth?

About $450-550 tops. Given its age, condition, etc. That about it.-Lou

Original Floyd with a floyd nut, or a JT6 with a Kahler type nut?

If it's the former, probably up to $750.

Xeno, its a recessed shaller floyd with a floyd nut.

I am wondering if it is rare enough to put the money into it or just leave it to someone else.

How much do they want for it?

They said $799 but have had it a while and are wanting to get rid of it. I am trying to figure out if it is worth the $700 I might be able to get them down to.

What's your definition of "some dings"?

If you can get it for $700, that's probably a fair price. If it has "mojo", definitely worth $700 as a player.

Reverse headstock Soloists are kinda rare, (I have a 2-hum majenta colored one from 89), so would command a little more $. I agree with xeno, $700 out the door with case would be reasonable if it plays well (I paid $750).
