when i pull back on my floyd trem, the strings are sharp after i return it to the original position. it also happens after a dive bomb, but with strings going flat.

    Re: floyd rose help

    Probably stupid questions, but:

1.) Is your locking nut locked up when you're playing with the trem?

2.) Did you stretch your strings thoroughly when you put on new strings?

3.) Are the strings properly locked down at the saddles too?

If "yes" to all three, then it's probably a problem with the trem itself. I'm thinking that in this case, your knife edges may be a little bit worn out.

I am guessing it's an Original Floyd Rose?

The knife edges are the little "sharp" edges (like a knife) that make contact with the two trem posts on either side of the trem. They sort of pivot against the trem posts.

i took the OFR out to look at the knife edges...there's a tiny tiny barely noticable part sticking out of the knife edges where the posts should go.
