  • Delam on headstock

My friends Les Paul Studio's finish is looking pretty bad.
The worst is the headstock. There's also crazing on the back of the head and by the control knobs.
My question is: What to do?
Fix the head stock with the Gibson logo side, or redo the
    whole thing.
What kind of cost are we talking about?
    Thanks
    Finn

      What would cause this?
Bad top coat at the factory or temp change?
We live in S.F bay area, so humidity isn't a big thing.

I'm with Sully, leave it alone. Trying to fix it will more than likely hurt the value of the instrument. As to what caused it, it just looks like old brittle nitro lacquer to me. How old is the guitar?

?? I have no idea. Neither does he.
He babied it since he got it.
Like I said the temps in the S.F. Bay Area is neither humid or freezing. Must have been bad nitro lacquer.
