• Opinion on pickup color?

Here's my Teal Green Metallic Double Fat Strat. I'm not digging the Seymour Duncan bridge pup lately, it seems too bright (Pearly Gates Plus). I'm most likely changing it to a DiMarzio Norton, but what color should I go with? I was thinking green, but their regular green seems a bit too dark. How about mint green or maybe a zebra mint green/white? Or should I just stick with white? The neck pup is a '59 and is staying there.

TJ, stick with white and let me know if you are gonna sell that pickup.

Stick with white - the metallic paint and the pearl pickguard wouldn't do so well with a other colors mixed in there.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that. It's hard to tell what other colors will look like without them actually being in there.

                Re: Opinion on pickup color?

It's tough business picking colors on strat with a pickguard. Hum or single, you can't go wrong with matching the pickup to the pickguard. This works for your basics, like white on white and black on black, as well as your Ibenhads pink on pink (hmmm... sounds like a porno) and yellow on yellow. You can even go reverse colors like black on white and white on black. But once you get into metallic paints, and pearl guards, you're best bet is to stick with white or black, depending on the color of the guitar and the pickguard.

Lets say white guitar, black pearl guard - you can go white or black.

White guitar, red tortoise shell guard - black pickups work, white pickups work better, but red would look bad.

Actually, what's strange is I was just going through my old literature on this guitar and noticed the pups, guard and knobs really aren't considered white. They're actually Parchment which is a slight off-white, not as bright as the regular white.
