The shell they take the pearl from is generally only a foot in diameter. So unless you want a bunch of little pieces glued together then no they don't. lol

I want a guitar made entirely of plexiglass (neck and all like that old Strat), but the body would be hollow so I could fill it with water and have goldfish swimming around in there.

I think Kirk Hammett had a guitar with some blue liquid inside, and the body was made of plexiglass, but no fish. Wouldn't they get frightened and die or something? [img]graemlins/brow.gif[/img]

That old '57 Strat is actually made of solid Lucite, which is heavier than plexiglass. That guitar weighs a TON! I actually held it once and it was without a doubt one of the heaviest solidbody guitars I have ever encountered! Yes, 70's Strats and Les Pauls included.

bc rich, dillion, kribon and samick make prodcution acrylic guitars. heavier than any wood. some weight more than 25 flipping lbs.

Yeah, Kirk Hammett has a couple with lava lamp oil in them. He originally had an idea for a snowglobe type thing, but his tech put the oil in it instead.
