  • Neck question

This may sound silly.... if I want to put a 22 fret neck 25.5 scale equipped with a locking nut on a string thru body and just not lock the strings at the nut, the guitar will intonate and be fine, correct ?

should be ok. just make sure you leave the clamps off completely, or finger tighten them because they rattle if loose.

      Re: Neck question

As long as the body takes a 22 fret neck, yes.

I think stewmac sells a graphite-type nut that replaces locking nuts.

            Re: Neck question

Yup, a Floyd nut either needs to be locked down or replaced completely. There's no middle of the road there.
