  • PC-1 sustainer problem

i've had my PC-1 since 2001. i rarely use the sustainer unit because i think it makes the guitar sound bad if you aren't using the sustainer, but the batteries are in it. anyway, today i put two fresh batteries into the compartment, all set to record a track using the feedback mode of the sustainer and all i get is this super high pitched squeal when i'm not playing!! when i am playing it sounds as if the guitar is fading in and out. but if i switch the sustainer switch to the fundamental position, it works fine!! anyone have this problem before?
    GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

    and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!
Working...
