  • Kahler Steeler Diagram?

Does anyone have a drawing of a Kahler Steeler Trem (it's Floyd-licensed) with all the dimensions included? Thanks.

      Re: Kahler Steeler Diagram?

I bought a guitar with a Kahler Steeler on it (the Hill I posted pics of in another thread). Anyhow, I can't get a bar reliably threaded into the arm hole of the Kahler, so I would like to drop in a Floyd-licensed replacement. I've tried an OFR and it fits in the route, but you can't pull back on the bar because the base plate of the floyd hits the top of the body. I don't want to mess with trying to open up the route anymore because I'm afraid I'll mess up the graphic paint job. So if I get the dimensions maybe I can hunt down a floyd copy that I can drop right in.

Grandturk: Thanks. I've seen that. I think I may have to pull the Steeler out and just measure it myself.

To be honest, I think it would be easier to find a bar to fit the Kahler, than mess around swapping it. After all, the Steeler is a really good trem, and I have seen the bars for them on ebay quite often.

It's not the bar; it's the trem. I actually have 2 of them, and the bars are very tricky to screw in, and the unit is easily stripped. I can actually screw in a Floyd bar to one of them, but the 2 Kahler bars I have will only go in on an angle.

                      Re: Kahler Steeler Diagram?

I can vouch for the ease of strip-a-bility of the threads for the Steeler. I had one on my first guitar, a MIJ metal Strat, and the threads were stripped out within a few months.

check out this site, he seems to have just about every thing here that has to with Kahlers, I've gotten a few replacement parts from him and he's great to deal with
