• Defending Jacksons/Charvels from flamage

Life's longest riddle: "How do you defend Jackson and Charvel guitars in an argument with an ignorant FIFTEEN YEAR OLD ESP player who says that 'Jacksons suck ass'?"

I am on a message board talking about metal guitars, and a few of us were talking about Jacksons, and a fifteen year old ESP player comes along, saying, "Jacksons suck ass", "ESP rocks", etc.

I am NOT going to start a fight to defend Jacksons for the following reasons:

1.) Though I am only 19 and he is 15, we BOTH have not lived long enough to have played a fair share of guitars from each "era" of the company. So I can't really go with my natural instinct to defend Jacksons, because I hate arguing on something I have not had much experience with.

2.) I'll save myself the energy, because he who argues with a 15-year-old ESP player is analogous to pumping a dry well, beating a dead horse, squeezing blood out of a stone, debating with a brick wall, or the like.

3.) It's not worth arguing on the internet. It's akin to competing in the special olympics: Even if you win, you're still a retard.

All I said in response to the guy was, "How many USA Select Series Jacksons have you played in your fifteen years of life?" and am awaiting a reply.

But, I still feel funny. Having an ignorant little kid insulting a guitar company known for nothing but absolute quality and reputation just sickens me. I promised myself I wouldn't fight, but sometimes you just want to kill a small furry animal for the ignorant things that spew forth from younger teenagers.

Don't yoy sometimes wish you could sometimes pummel someone over the internet?!?

You can't tell a teenager anything.

They know EVERYTHING and are ALWAYS right!!!

I'm almost twice as old as you and I still remember what a genius *I* was at 15... not!

Ya just gotta let em rant, you're right.. you can't *win* in such an argument.

All you gotta do is smile, shake your head.. and play yer guitar!

Sometimes i wish there was a internet electrical shock system. When ever somebody says something totally stupid and ignorant you could just press a button and zzzzzzzzzapppppppppppp the hell out of there dumb ass. That would be sweet.
Obviously the 15 year old wanker was reffering to the LTD guitar wanna be crap. Made in Korea.
Hell i'ld play a Indian made Jackson over a P.O.S. LTD anyday and get better tone.
The Japanese Jackson are far better quality than the LTD's we dont even need to go to the US slesct sereis Jackosns to blow the snot out of a LTD. (Left To Die) HEhehe, That just came to me. I like it.
Should be left to die too. POS's.

Good job priest! I think your point was well made and might I add, not bad for a 19 at large!

Hey!! I have posts on the ESP site that you guys would love to read, just check for 'razor' I also have a few rants on the harmony central website on an ESP MH300 I bought "what an adventure in woodworking that was" You'll know when you read the one on harmony central, there is a reference to a campfire jam. I'll tell you honestly, to this day, I will not buy another ESP unless it is a USA made 6 or 7 string. As for my favorite 6 string guitars it will be my USA Yngwie strat and my USA jackson. My best 7 string is my Ibanez RG7620 and then my ESP MH307. Oh, almost forgot, the MH307 has been totally redone by a local luther so it actually plays correctly and stays in tune now. I just picked up a Jackson PC-3 too from DCGL and even though it's japanese, it plays awsome, reminds me of a san dimas I played a long time ago, I will definately get a PC-1 some time in the future too. There is 1 left at DCGL but I don't think I'll have the cash in time for that one..

I've played quite a few ESP's and currently thinking about buying one that's on clearance and a good deal. It's a decent playing Korean guitar and really inexpensive. In no way does it stack up to a higher quality, US made guitar; Jackson, Carvin, Dean, PRS, G&L. In my opinion Samick (making them for ESP-LTD) doesn't even have the best Korean guitar. There are a few companies that make nice, decent quality Korean made guitars and some of them have surprised me. (Especially Korean made Brian Moore's which are too expensive and price themselves out of the market). But, then immediately pick up a higher quality Jackson and the difference is undeniable. You can't argue with this dude, he's going to have to grow up and figure it out for himself.

doesn't that say something about quality issues? an ESP needs going over by a professional before it's playable

"3.) It's not worth arguing on the internet. It's akin to competing in the special olympics: Even if you win, you're still a retard."

NOT funny

Indeed. To complain about someone elses ignorance and then put that 'special olympics' quote at the end, was quite impressive.
