  • 5 way switch wiring

Has anybody got a simple to understand wiring diagram for a 5 way switch? It's on an Ibanez RG something or other. H S H, the humbuckers are Seymour Duncan, the single is a stock Ibanez.

    Thanks

    Sean.

      Re: 5 way switch wiring

Is it an enclosed switch with 8 tabs on one side, or an open switch with 4 tabs on each side?

If it's got 8 tabs on one side:
-Center tabs are Output to knobs (you only need to connect to one tab)
      -Next tab is Bridge
      -Next tab is Middle
      -End tab is Neck
-To get Coil-splitting options for the hums (i.e. Position 4=Split neck and middle), connect the tap wires of the neck hum to the 2nd tab on the other half of the switch.

      Switch:

      |-
      |-Split Neck with Middle
      |-
      |-
      |-Knobs
      |-Bridge full
      |-Middle only
      |-Neck Full
