Stripping a fretboard?

Hey folks...
I have an import Charvie neck that I stripped the clearcoat off the back, so I could get that raw feel. But, there's also clearcoat on the maple fretboard. Anyone have any idea of how to get that off without pulling all the frets? I'm planning to oil the whole neck once it's stripped, but ya can't oil overtop of clearcoat.
