• Let's talk about drummers.

We, as guitarists, rarely talk about them, but to be honest, I could have just as easily ended up playing drums, and I would probably be a better drummer than guitar player. I have never taken drumming for granted. Sure, we all joke about them:

Q: What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians?

A: A drummer!

But seriously, I really respect a good drummer. My favourite drummer of all-time is Keith Moon. He was truly incredible, and easily the most exciting drummer ever IMHO. It wasn't always what he played, but sometimes what he didn't play that made him special.

Let's hear about your favourites.

Re: Let\'s talk about drummers.

The three drummers that have really stuck out in my mind and that I can listen to over and over again and never get bored with are John Bonham, Neal Peart, and Dave Lombardo.

If I had it to do all over again, I would probably be a drummer.

Peter Criss(KISS)
Eric Carr(KISS) rip, two totally different styles but each one fit their version of Kiss.
Mick Brown(Dokken) totally under rated.
Rikki Rocket anyone who can double bass while standing thats impressive.

my favorite drummers are:

tommy lee - i really love his sense of rhythm. he's the only drummer that i can pick out like a guitarist. he has his own sound.
matt sorum - a click track from hell
stephen perkins (jane's addiction) - totally solid, and also uses percussion instruments other than just drums
matt cameron (soundgarden) - just a wailin, great rock drummer

i love playing drums... just wish i could do it better.
