  • Peavey G-90

Has anybody played one of these before? I played one today, and it seemed alright. Low action, licensed Floyd Rose, H/S/S, with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge position.

It says manufactured in the US, but I know NOTHING about Peavey guitars. Any input would be appreciated.

I've got one of these and feel they are very decent guitars. The neck shape is very thin/comfortable (the neck feels like a rosewood version of the Vandenberg neck). It is a short scale (24-3/4" like the Vandy) with a 15" radius, so bending is easy. They have decent Kahler licensed floyds (at least I like 'em!). Peaveys are made in US. These come in erie-dess type finishes that are pretty cool. These usually go for cheap, around $200 or so, and are very good values for the money.
Here's the manual w/specs and info:

A good friend of mine had one. It was actually his main guitar for several years until someone stole it. It wasn't the prettiest guitar in the world, but it seemed to play real nice, and it was very well made. I have a Peavey Destiny that was basically their version of a soloist. Neck-thru, s/s/h pickups, and a pretty decent Kahler Floyd knock-off. It's got a great neck, and sounds awesome. I'm pretty sure the G-90 and Destiny were identical except for the neck-thru, and the Destiny has a very slight arch to the body.

With the PVs I've owned I liked them at first, but over time they just go to the bottom of the pile.....I think the last time I plugged in the only PV I have left was at least 15 months ago.....Well made, but they aint got no soul brother..........
