  • A MUST READ FOR ANYONE WHO EVER SHIPS A GUITAR OVERSEAS

I work as a shipping manager. You should always send a invoice (4 copies)signed in blue ink. The invoice should say who it is from and who it is to. A good discription, cost and shipping charges. If the guitar is more then 2500.00 in value then you need to send a shippers export declaration (s.e.d.). That should be all you needed to do it..

Ok, but I have had guitars sit for WEEKS in customs shipping with just the invoices in there, but the one I taped all the info to the front of the box was in and out the same day.

My JacksonStars NASL had the invoice on the front of the box - got here in less than 5 days.
I sent a Pedulla to Japan a coupla years back and it got there in about 3 days cuz the P.O. had the invoice on the front of the package.

A MUST READ FOR ANYONE WHO EVER SHIPS A GUITAR OVERSEAS

Just found this out and IT WORKS. It seems lately customs has been holding guitars for weeks at a time. Seems like they put aside the guitars and other items that require alot of paperwork, currency conversions ETC.

SOLUTION: put a list in with the paperwork, and tape it to the front, of the value of the item in both your currency and the currency of the country you are sending it to. Also include any serial numbers, shipping charges and complete list of itmes sent. Also have the phone number of the person receiving the merchandise on there as well which is actualy now required. I just shipped a guitar on the 19th (Thursday) 4-10 day air to the U.K. with USPS and the guy got it this morning the 23rd (Monday). That's 3 business days.

I received my KE3 from music123.com a while ago in 2 working days, and thanks to the fools at Irish customs I didn't get taxed either which saved me 21% on the price.
