Posted this in general discussion first, but it should have been here.

Im looking to get the "twang" sound on my guitar, a la the "Cramps" or something like that. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Hugo,
I live in Texas now but I can't help you get twang into your geetar. Please explain more.

Also this topic should be posted in the

"Country Category" of the forum, there it will get the appropriate response.

Re: Twang

I'd like to see the bracing on that top!

Back to the original message - I believe a lot of the Cramps stuff was recorded with old Gretsch guitars with, I think, Gretsch "FilterTron" humbuckers. (At least that's what Ivy's playing in every picture I've ever seen.) These don't really sound like anything else I can think of, although the SD Alnico II or DiMarzio Humbucker From Hell might get you in the neighborhood...

A clean fender amp will help get that twang-tone too... Get a twin for the ultimate in twang-tone
