On the old JCF, you weren't supposed to post personal emails on the board...I don't know if the rules are the same or not, but perhaps a good summary of the email would be better.

            Tetsuo scrawled on the chalkboard:

it was handmade by Mike Soldano when he was at VHT for…..Stevie Ray

Mike Soldano worked for VHT? Uh... really? Must have been about the same time Leo Fender worked for Marshall and Paul Reed Smith worked for Hondo.

I think your friend was smoking bathtub crack, and some of the fumes got to you. I don't think Soldano was ever 'at' VHT... or maybe I'm on crack. I dunno for sure, but that sounds insane.

I have no idea the guy has always ben pretty straight in my trades with him and good to deal with. I have no idea also myself the history of Soldano pre SLO production models. I would like to know the validity of that fact if anyone has any info. It would be appreciated.

Re: I am in tears about a SLO

                Check these two articles out.

Soldano's from Seattle to LA and back
                Soldano - Online rag interview

Pretty much gives the history of Soldano Custom Amplification. I didn't include it here but I did find reference to Bob Bradshaw commissioning Mike Soldano to build the X88R preamp to Bob's design requirements for Steve Lukather (Toto). Basically the design was to combine a Soldano for the lead tone, a Marshall for crunch tone and a Boogie for the clean tone. Enjoy!
