  • Refinish to a neck?

    Hi All,

I have a monarkh that I really like. I bought it as b-stock so it's stamped used (no discernible defect that I can find). Could have been because of the poor quality tuners but I swapped them for some sperzels. Now I have filling holes and the stamp on the back that I'd like to cover up.

If I sanded and stained this thing darker am I going to cover up the defects?

stain will not cover where you filled the screw holes, it will just darken them. you would have to paint it to cover it. I don't think I would worry about it to much

Definitely don't want to do that. Thanks.

Probably the best way to plug and hide those holes would be to sand the neck a little, and make a filler with wood glue and the sanding dust. press this into the holes and sand smooth after it dries.
