  • Wire soldered to trem claw

Hey guys I'm swaping out my floyd rose special on my soloist to a OFR, first time doing this, and noticed it has a wire soldered on to the claw. Would I potentially ruin something i'f i take that wire off the claw since I have to replace it?
Jacksons haven't failed me so far

That wire is a ground wire and the other end should be soldered to the back of either the volume or tone 'pot'. Remove/unsolder the wire from your old claw and re-solder to the new claw. You could probably just use the existing claw for the springs with your OFR, then you don't have to do anything with the wire.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing --- no reason to remove the old claw.
