  • Best low friction pots? Alternatives to the expensive EVH Low Friction Pot?

I dislike the very high friction pots on my two Charvel So-Cals and hope to replace them with low friction pots.

I'm not even sure what to enter in Google because "low friction pot" seems to give me only EVH branded search results.

Is there a generic term that I can try to widen my results? (It's like searching "adhesive bandage" instead of "Band-Aid", or "facial tissue" instead of "Kleenex".)

I don't want to pay CAD$31.52 (https://www.amazon.ca/EVH-022-0831-0...w+friction+pot) for one when a different brand of low friction pot will accomplish the same thing!

A tech installed a very easy-turning WD Music push-pull pot (http://www.wdmusic.com/WD500PP_US.html) on my Charvel Model 1C, but are there other alternatives?

    Thanks!

Bourns gtr series pots are supposed to be good and very low friction. Haven't used them
    Edit:
Guess Bourns makes the other low friction pots like the evh ones.

Pretty sure Bourns makes the EVH ones, no? I love Bourns pots so take a look at their offerings.

Before posting this topic yesterday, I dug around and found some sources saying Bourns makes the EVH pots.

However there doesn't seem to be an easy way to determine which Bourns pots are "low friction" because none are labeled as such. Unless perhaps they're all "low friction"...

Anyone with massive Bourns experience that can comment on their product range if they are all "low friction"? kamanda?

I was thinking about it and just looked in my parts box and I had ordered some off Amazon but ordered the wrong shaft. Comparing them to an alpha pot there is a massive difference.

I know that I wasn't looking for a low friction pot so that kind of leads me to believe that they may all or mostly all be low friction. You might look in the comments on Amazon and see if anyone mentions it or not.

I'm not 100% sure on if they are all 'low friction' but they are fast, especially compared to cts, that much I can say.

FYI If your in Canada and looking for pots (Number of the Priest - You could even go pick up if need be) check out http://nextgenguitars.ca/ ...I have had great experience with them just last week. And the only place I could find Bourns pots around here.

WTF... I live five minutes away from that Next Gen store and I never knew it existed.

Thanks kamanda! I definitely need to visit!

EDIT: According to their FAQ, I can't visit, but can only do local pickup. That's OK too.

These are about the best I have ever used personally and as well with clients. No friction at all.
