  • Creating radius on Schaller floyd using shims

    Hi All,

    I have a 2004 Soloist SL-1 with OFR and a 1989 Charvel 750XL with Jackson branded Schaller.
I want to make a radius on both of the tremolos to match the compound radius of the neck.
Does anyone know how many shims (i have a standard shims set from ebay) i need to put under each saddle to perform it?

    tnx

Consensus: Shim it so that it plays best for you.

What he said. Jeff Beck keeps his upper 3 strings essentially straight across--doesn't follow the radius!
