Loose wire - anyone know what this is?

I picked up a San Dimas recently and wanted to look at the electronics as I'm considering swapping out a pickup and I have a bad toggle switch.

I realized I have a loose wire on a push-pull vol knob that was installed - does anyone know what this should go to?

It's not long enough to really reach anything other than the posts below or ground. I'm wondering if I should resolder this to anything or remove it.

If the push pull is for coil split, I would think that should go to ground

more of the picture would help confirm were it goes, but as Banjowarrior posted it appears it would go to ground.
