  • Jackson Floyd Rose - Too Touchy (Whammy)

    I have a Jackson JS34Q Transparent Red...

One thing, with the Floyd Rose, it's far too... touchy.

I've tried searching online for help but could not find any (maybe my wording is incorrect)

My Floyd is just too touchy, is there a way to... strengthen it or make it so it has more resistance when using the whammy... maybe make it a little stiffer?

Take the back cover off. There is more than likely 3 springs.add another one or two. Of course the guitar trem will need to be re set up.

But if it is already setup properly, adjusting it yourself will be easy after you add a spring ---- IF all you do is add the spring. You can also adjust where all the springs are. But you can't do stuff like detune or remove the strings.

Add the spring. And simply loosen the claw until your strings come back in tune.

I find 2 springs to be too touchy. I like 3 springs. FYI you should be able to add (or remove) a spring and then adjust the claw position in or out and put th guitar back in tune.

          Try 3 stiffer springs?

Not all springs have the same resistance.

should be able to have up to 5 springs.....if yours only has 3 (most likely) then as said add 1 or 2 more springs.....will stiffen it up a good bit

all my floyd equipped guitars have 4 springs and the floyd is dead level.. i just prefer a floyd to be a bit stiff ..
