  • 5 way switch issue on my Ibanez RG750

Asking for some help in finding the problem.

I removed the pickguard of my RG750 to fix a volume pot issue (broken weld) but now, since I put back my pickguard, my 5 way switch is working intermittently. Sometimes, I need to push on its sides to make it work... Weird, as it was working fine before I removed the pickguard. Could it be the switch? A bad ground? Anyone can offer some help? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I should have created a NGD about that Ibby... I know...

    D. All of the above.

I've also found that screwing the top screws too tight will do the same thing.
Another thing to consider is what the wires looked like when you put it back on. Moving them around could make a difference.

As we speak, my son is helping me out and we are cannibalising a JS32 Dinky (don't know the real model as I got it in a pedal trade) for its 5 way switch. We will try and see... I'll keep ya all posted.
