Changing pots

Alright I have a Dean 79 reissues V. It came with 250k pots.. I've been thinking about upgrading to 500k, Now my question is should I/do I have to replace all?. Or just the volume pots and leave the tone at 250k.. Any advantages/ disadvantages In doing this?. Any feedback is appreciated! Cheerss

You can just change the volume and leave the tone alone, no big deal. 250k will be a little warmer/darker sounding, and 500k will be brighter.
