  • Kahler 2300 question

    Gentlemen,

If I were to use a neck without a locking nut/string lock and not use the tremolo's arm (basically playing it as a hardtail), will the guitar stay in tune? Is there any way to block the tremolo like one could block a Floyd?

    Thanks

    yeah, it should be fine,

Also, some of the 2300's have a screw to lock them in hardtail mode, I think, or maybe this is just the hybrids

Will the fixed bridge version fit? Do they have the same mounting holes?

There should be an allen key at the back of the 2300 , between the a and d strings.. screwing this into the floating part of the bridge will lock the bridge into fixed position.

When i do it, i adjust the string tension so that the trem "sits up" a bit, then hold it level with the arm when i screw in the lock. there isn't much wiggle room with the lock engaged, but if you have the trem "sitting back" there can be an annoying little "click" when you bend the strings as the cam moves 1000th of an inch as the string pressure overcomes the spring pressure.

The fixed bridge uses the same mounting screw pattern.
