so i came across a cool little diy in guitar boost and though it may be old news to some of you, some of you may not have seen it.

now forgive my ignorance but is this basically the same as an emg pa2?
also for any electronics gurus, if i wanted to place a resistor to jump where the 50k pot goes, what value would give me about 65% of boost? or would it be better to use a micro sized potentiometer and keep it adjustable? basically i dont want to add any controls, knobs, or switches to the guitar, but would like a good amout of clean boost and leave it set.
