  • Pressing/setting frets on compound radius board?

    Considering jacksons have a conical compound radius, how do you guys press them in? Cauls for the drill press are only 10/12/14/16 so I'm not sure. :think:

    Maybe some very dense closed cell foam that could somewhat form to each fret? Brass hammer?

    I use a 12" caul. Remember that you've still got leveling to do after pressing them in; the caul matching doesn't need to be exact, and you're watching the fret go in and can see if it's seated properly before moving on.
