  • 18V Pedal

Hello, I am running an EVH Flanger which is apparently runs on 18V, but I do not yet have the proper power supply "y" cord to deliver 18V from my Pedal Power 2 Plus P/S, so I am currently running it off of only 9V. Should I be concerned with damaging the pedal in any way?
    Thanks
    Kev

I don't think so. When you use a worn 9v battery it actually delivers around 5v.

Running lower than spec voltage shouldn't cause any harm to the device. As long as polarity is correct and you are under spec voltage everything should be fine. It will sound different though. It uses a bucket brigade chip for it's delay which is essentially a long string of capacitors. If you aren't operating at the spec voltage the 'buckets' aren't going to fill the same.

It won't necessarily be bad or even worse, just different.

You will just loose headroom and the pedal may distort when you don't want it to.
