  • SSS Strat pups?

I'm building up a backup strat and am looking for a good sounding set of pups.
My budget is $120 or less (new or used).
I haven't tried them, but maybe GFS? Or something else?
    Need some suggestions.

One piece Swamp Ash body, Nitro Laquer, CIJ ST62 neck, V-Trem.
    Models
The prudes may snub them, but I don't care.
    I dont need furniture.
If its tough, shreds, and screams, Its all good.
If it gets jacked, I'll get another one.
    And rock that sucker.

have you checked out Bill Lawrence's Wilde pickups? A set should come in right on budget

I thought about Lawrence, but figured they would be too pricey.
      I'll check it out.

      Thanks.

I think they were about $44 per pickup. Not sure if he offers a discount for buying a set

On the cheap side, I always liked the standard mexi strat pickups from the 90's. You could probably pick up a whole loaded guard with them for less than your budget.

I'm guessing your talking about the L200 or L280/290 set.
There is also L45s and keystones for Strat.
            Keystones would be under budget.

              +1 Wired EJ style. Brilliant.
You can't really be jealous of something you can't fathom.

I love the old JS100's Great sounding strat pups. Altho i dont remember there being a bridge version. There's also Lace Sensors. May be a bit more than your budget but they sound great.

I like J100s. Have them in my 86 Model 3s.
I do have an extra set from an 86 Model 1 stashed away, but I really have other plans for them.
I'm looking for a low power vintage Strat sound for classic Blues Rock gigs.
I'm a Metal head, but what the hell, a gig is a gig.

For the price, I think the Bill Lawrence pups should work. I have no doubt he knows his shit.
Would like to try out some Rose pups too.
