EVH p'up w/ mahogany, ebony?

Trying to cultivate that 80's hair metal/shreddy tone again. I've been moving back to passives in my shredders. Wonder how an EVH Frankenstein p'up will sound in a mahogany bodied, ebony boarded ax? Single p'up with just a volume knob and a cut off switch. No tone.

duncan custom, distortion or JB....IMO the JB and mahogany is great. a couple of my 80's 1 hum wonders have dimarzio super distortions YUM. EVH can suck it.

What j said. The frankenstien is a nice sounding pickup but it's not as hot as either. The Custom Custom sounds great in mahogany too. I had a CC in my 750xl and it sounded amazing. But then it was a 750xl. lol Also the super D is cool. The Tone sounds good in mahogany too. but can be a bit thick sounding depending on the piece of wood.
