  • Help! Key fell under guitar case

Hi, my key for my PRS custom 24 fell case under the felt or vinyl of the case. Does anyone know how to get it without destroying the case.

Grab a strong fridge magnet and try to use that through the felt.

Is this the same crapass generic skeleton key made of crapass probably-not-ferrous metal that all cases come with? If so, a magnet may not get it.

PRS uses the same crapass GG spec cases.

IMO, keys are useless. If someone wants to swipe the guitar, they'll take the whole thing and break the case open. If you really want a replacement key, I'd give the case maker a call. Shouldn't be a big deal.

That's like saying you shouldn't lock your car because if someone wants to steal it they will. A lock keeps an honest man honest, and while it won't keep out someone who is going to steal it regardless, it may be just enough to make someone think twice. You don't go on vacation and leave your home unlocked do you?

No. But my home isn't portable like a guitar case is.

No, come on... Sully loses. He doesn't realize that once you lock your guitar case it can't be moved.
