  • Strings hitting neck

Working on my refin project, bolted the neck back on, and started to string her up. But now the strings are fretted out a the 24th fret.

I changed out the saddles, from single locking to double locking. Don't know if that would make a difference. Is there a way to raise the action on a floyd copy?

When I get the strings close to tuned, they are completely fretted out.

What am I doing wrong? This is my first time putting a guitar back together.

Did you try raising the posts? They unscrew to raise the action, and screw in to lower the action.

Duh, didn't even realize that the posts might have been in too far, compared to before refin.

Trying to set it up after it's been taken apart is a royal bitch.

I'm sure I will have more dumb questions in the next few days.

found these for you. better book mark these pages and study them to learn how to set up a floyd:
            1) basic info: http://blues4kids.com/special_promot...loyd_howto.htm
            2) youtube stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1c-7-VMY_w and to intonate the guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-eVYlXNIa4

            good luck!
