  • Volume and tone pots in an '85 Soloist?

I bought some CTS pots to replace my faulty volume and tone pots. I removed the volume pot, only to find out the modern CTS pots have a larger post that doesn't fit through the hole in my Soloist.

Anyone know of good pots that have posts that are slightly smaller than the CTS pots that would fit my old Soloist without drilling?

I'm not sure if it would be the same, but these Alpha pots worked in my 91 soloist. CTS pots were too big for those holes too.

The CTS pots have a 6.35mm shaft, these have a 6mm shaft.

On the right track, but I don't think 1/3 of a MM will make the pot fit through the hole. Comparing the old pot to the CTS, the old one is visibly thinner. It might pay to have a tech drill bigger holes and wire up new tone and volume pots, if the original size pots are long gone?
