  • pickups active or passive?

    Hi!, i am really newbie in guitars electronics ... i have a jackson soloist pro 1990 with jackson J50c and two j-200 and i don´t know if the pickups are active or passive.
    help please

    Pickups are passive. But there should be an active JE-1200 mid boost circuit for the third knob. That's what takes the battery. If you don't have this circuit, it's not factory.

      They are passive pickups. There is an active boost circuit in there, but the pups themselves are passive.

                I always thought my old Model 4 was active. I may be wrong, but I consider any powered onboard electronics active.I much prefer passives.

                    Exactly. All of Jackson's pickups were passive.
