A bunch of play in the Floyd studs?

Hey guys,
I just swapped out the black hardware on my new USA SD1 and noticed a lot of play in the hex head screws that go into the studs. I was surprised to see that much play and checked the black and chrome in each of the studs and they all had a good bit of play, is this normal? I am thinking of trying some plumbers tape to try and tighten up the tolerances.

Did the plumbers tape job tonight and it made a big difference, much better!
