              Ok, so I realized that the top was a little dark for what I wanted to do, so I decided to lightly sand the finish, hoping that I could lighten it a bit.... but I screwed up the top (no pictures of that). Rather than start completely over, I just took off the finish on the top and kept the finish on the back, sides and the edges. As you can see, there was a finish on the original body because after sanding close to the edge, you can no longer see the flame without naptha.




              Doesn't matter that it isn't perfect as green is going back on the top, just a few shades lighter.




              The darker green side/back adds to the contrast, I guess...




              I did kinda finish the headstock, but it's also too dark. I'm gonna redo it in a lighter shade, but I may also get some birdseye veneer to match the neck...

                  The green looks great and I think you are right that the darker sides kind of frames the top. Nice job!
