I have an OLD Charvel from 83. Original Floyd. High E string is starting to break before the strings are worn out on bends.
Can I file it down ?

I assume it's breaking at the saddle? Probably a burr in the saddle that can be easily filed away.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling. -
The easiest fix is to swap the saddle with the low E. If that saddle also has a burr, then it's time to break out the file._________________________________________________
