  • Best place to buy Dimarzios and Duncans online?

Looking for a Dimarzio D Activator DP220 F spaced Red and black with nickel poles.

A Black Dimarzio Super Distortion with nickel poles and a

    Seymour Duncan Distortion

Last two seem pretty common, but for love nor money can I get the D Activator in red and black, it seems in the UK. Is there anywhere online in the US that is cheap? - so I can get them posted to my sisters place in VA so she can post it on to me and hopefully I cheat the UK taxman.

Try on ebay. There's a dealer that goes by the name BanjoMikez (I think). He usually has odd color PUs and other custom-shop items as well.

        He doesn't ship to UK.

[EDIT]...but I guess the OP could get his sister to buy them, then ship to him .

Sorry didn't realize the seller doesn't ship overseas.

Thanks. No overseas shipping doesn't matter as I want them shipped to my sisters place anyhow.

Checked ebay out already, only bridge red/black with nickel poles seems to be in a set - don't want the neck one, only the bridge. The system refuses questions to Midmichiganmusic so I can't ask if they'll split.

I'd give em a call only they probably won't understand my accent. (Seriously!)

Sent them an email - hope they'll split! Is Ebay my only hope?

I ordered a pair of purple dimarzio's via my local shop. It took a while, and cost £90 each. I asked if they'd order some custom coloured Duncans and the answer was "no custom orders from SD". Maybe this BanjoMike guy paints them himself?

Banjomikez DOES post to the UK, I've bought a ton of pups off him, unless he's changed his policy recently.
He also DOES get the coloured Duncans made to order, so your local shop must not know about that. Mike will get you the colour you want if you can wait on the order being made up. He certainly doesn't paint them, the bobbins are moulded in coloured plastic.

Yeah, he has shop floor customs, weird stuff like gold poles, matched color sets, you name it. He sent me the wrong pickup once, a Custom Custom instead of a Custom, out of maybe 20 or so? Other than that, the guy is 100% reliable, ships really fast, I just don't see any reason to buy from anyone else, really.

He also sticks in a free gift, and they're actually worthwhile. I've had S. Duncan bottle opener keychains, string winders and all sorts of stickers.

Just checked again. I see he does ship to UK now, but wasn't at the time I was previously looking for custom coloured pickups quite a while ago (just before I ordered those purple Dimarzios via a local shop). I am not questioning banjomikez's credibility or the authenticity of what he sells. I only guessed he might custom-paint them professionally because I rarely see a non-black/white/cream pickup available from anyone else.

It's DiMarzio that prohibits shipping outside USA - Duncans are OK. I ordered a '59 and a Duncan Custom both in black with gold polepieces at a very nice price from BanjoMikez. I asked them by email if they would ship to Finland and it was not a problem. Great service, great variety of products.

Dimarzio worldwide price fixing conspiracy huh...so like, they only run on 120V and not 240V? I'd guess it'd be something to do with a guarantee maybe, and associated shipping costs suppose.

Would explain why they are more in Pounds than they are in dollars, sometimes double the value in UK pounds sterling than dollars.....Although honestly, alot of that price has to be import duty and UK Value Added tax.

Really dread to think how much they are in Finland - three weeks wages?

Got one in the end, split a listing and sent to my sisters address.....now....how to make it look slightly used and ship it over here.... Only joking taxman, I'd never dream of doing such a thing. To be fair the tax on small items isn't the worst of it, its the minimum £8 charge for processing the tax forms by our own fair Royal Mail or National Couriers, that really fecks me off.

Can't wait to get my hands on it. Many thanks all!
