Make humbucker out of two J-100's?

I have two J-100 pickups laying around and I was thinking of mounting them side by side in a humbucker ring. Since the middle pickup is reverse wound, this should work right? I think I've figured out how to wire this to a series/parallel switch too.

Here's my one concern: Humbuckers have one magnet, right? Two singles = two magnets, and the two J-100's repel each other. Is it bad for me to force them next to each other when they repel?

Just try it. It should work fine. Do it in series for more output, but if it gets muddy you'll have to go parallel.
