how to paint bengal stripes

Im looking to paint my guitar with a bengal stripe pattern and wanted to know how to do the stripes. I can draw out the pattern but not sure what to use as a template while painting. Do you cover the guitar in painters tape, draw out the stripes then cut out the pattern? Figured there is an easier way. Already have the guitar painted black for the stripes.

i use contact paper or i use welding protective paper wich is in different dimensions (width-lenghth) for when i am doing graphics on cars i am painting but in this case the cost may be to much unless you just go to a local body shop & inquire on a piece for your need they could possibly hook u up with then all u have to do is lay it over guitar draw patterns paint & peel it has one side adhesive so will stick and have found adhesive to not pull off recently painted areas dont know if this is info looking for hope it helps
