  • JT580LP bar wont stay screwed tight

    Hey all,

I tried doing a search and couldn't find anything about this, but if it has been covered, I apologize. I have a JT580LP on my KE3R. No matter what I do, the tension adjusting sleeve(or whatever it is called) will undo it self when I do some dives or pull ups. I really like to do a flutter effect, and I can't do it at all because the bar wiggles too much. Is there any way to tighten this up? Any information would be great.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Wrap some teflon plumber's tape around the threads.

Mine does the same thing. Annoying sometimes but not enough to bother with for me. I do like the teflon tape idea.

I'll probably replace the whole thing with an OFR anyway.

mine was wobbly no matter how tight or secured I had the collar. That's why I bought a new one.

Definitely spend the dough to replace the bar with an OFR bar and insert package from StewMac.

Thanks for the advice! But do you think the ProLine arm from Guitar Center would work ok?

                http://www.guitarcenter.com/ProLine-...78-i1170588.gc

It's $10 and I live down the street from a Guitar Center.

**EDIT** The reviews say fits Jackson licensed and TRS-II Trems. I think a JT580LP is a TRS-Pro...Which would likely have the same thread pitch as a TRS-II?

                      Wow! JB Weld worked wonders!!!

JK! I will just have to get the Stewmac arm. Or just replace the entire trem with an OFR. Thanks for all the help everyone!
