  • Resistor question

Whats the stock capacitor value used in Jackson guitars featuring a JB?

EDIT: CAPACITOR, had resistor on the brain for some reason.

      I don't think so.

A good combo for humbuckers is .015 for neck and .022 for bridge.

Single coils and EMGs typically use .047.

But in the end, none of these answers are correct.

The correct answer is whatever sounds the best.

Duncan's diagrams call for .047's on HB's. Dimarzio's diagrams call for .022's. And I'm fairly certain that Hellbat is correct that STOCK/FACTORY in Jacksons I've seen are .047. But Don is correct as well, whatever your ear likes. The smaller the cap, the brighter the tone.

Well I ended up using the .022 uf that came with the pot kits, and with the tone pot rolled roughly half way back, makes the guitar in question sound a lot like my Kelly. Nice thing about CTS pots, is they dont move easily, I can set it and leave it.
