  • Is lemon oil enough to protect an unfinished neck?

I have an old Model Series neck that had the entire finish sanded off by a previous owner and let for bare. I applied some generous amounts of lemon oil to it and wonder if that is enough to kind of "seal" it.

I do not want it to warp due to excessive sweat and wear and tear but is this product enough for this? Should I use gunstock or perhaps tung oil?

No, it isn't going to do much for it.

Tru Oil would be good. Tung Oil is OK, too, but not as good a protection as Tru Oil, which is actually a hard finish.

a gun stock oil or tung oil are the best options. lemon oil is basically a cleaning and condition oil for fretboards. it wont do much for long term finish use.

+1 on the Tru Oil (also known as GunStock Oil).
