  • Out put of gibby pick ups Q

Have a set of what are supposed to be 57's neck reads 8.5k and the bridge is 13k.
    What would these be?
57's have a PAF sticker on the baseplate and these do not BTW came out of a 90's L.P.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Sounds like you have a set of stock pickups of a 496r in the neck with maybe a 500t or a 498 in the bridge. Does the neck pickup just have a PAT# on the base plate? The bridge pickup just says Gibson USA? A lot of the base plates that have nothing on the back are so called leftovers with them being introduced in 74 used for t tops etc. They were used on most of the 490 family and the 500t's. Check out my Les Paul.com.

I posted a Q over there too.BTW I'll be down your way tomorrow night DrL.
Just has the slanted Gibson USA logo on the base plates.
I'll use them in something down the road I'm sure.

That's a big red flag there. 57 Classics would have a PAF sticker and no Gibson USA stamping.

You have a 490R/498T set. I'm positive on the 498T, and the logical matching neck pickup with a DC Resistance of 8.5K would be the 490R.

Also check the string spacing of the 498T. I bet it's F Spaced.

Also, the 490R/498T were standard for LP's from 1990 to 2001.

498T to me is like a JB with a bit less girth in the mids.
