I'm considering buying a Jackson SLSMG or similar and put a Fishman TOM to get acoustic tones from it. What do you think? Bad idea? Should I try to find a guitar with preinstalled piezo?

If you don't mind drilling into the face of the guitar (under the bridge) go for it. I did that to a Les Paul that I resurrected.

Actually I don't mind. I saw that video of the Les Paul project. Were you satisfied with the piezo sound? Which bridge did you use? And what controlls did you put on the guitar for the piezo?
