  • How to install frets on a compund radius fretboard?

    Hi,

I've watched those Musician Den videos on you tube showing how to refret a strat and les paul...But I could not find any info on how to install frets on a compund radius board..

Since all the frets will have a slightly different radius, do you use a hammer?

Or is there another way...If I was to do it I would also remove the neck from the body...(the neck also has binding)

1 more thing, to get the board level when it's off the guitar, should you loosen the truss rod all the way and sand it level? Or should the truss rod nut be snug?

Last time I did one, I used a drill press with these cauls:

I used two cauls for a slightly compound radius board. If the board has an aggressive compound radius, maybe you would use three or more?
