  • Question about finish

In a certain angle on my soloist I can see these vertical lines about 1cm apart from each other. Front and back, I know the finish is original so it's not from a shoddy refin. It's hard to photograph, but on this Charvel SoCal on the bay; in the second picture showing the back of the guitar you can kind of see what I'm talking about. Mostly on the lower left side. What is that? Anyone know?

I see that on my strat too. Body is 5-7 pieces and you can see the seams. Also see that a bit on my SL1 where the neck and body wings seam together. Kinda shoddy work if you ask me.

This is from the glue shrinking and expanding at a different rate than the wood (seam lines) and the wood grain showing up because the finish isn't ridiculously thick.

It's not a big deal, actually it will usually get worse as the guitar gets older.
